Bitcoin Is Back Near $84K. But Is the Money Coming Back Too?

Bitcoin has bounced back toward $84,000 after briefly falling near $81,000 earlier this week. But while price has recovered quickly, the money behind the move is sending a less convincing signal.

US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw roughly $681 million in net outflows last week, including nearly $485 million in a single session on October 7. Flows finally turned positive again on October 13, with around $110 million returning to the funds.

That makes the current rebound more interesting. Bitcoin is moving higher, but institutional demand is only beginning to recover.

$84K–$85K Is the Next Test

Bitcoin has repeatedly struggled around the $84,000 area, making $84,000–$85,000 an important near-term zone.

A sustained break above it, especially alongside continued ETF inflows, would give the rebound more credibility. But if ETF demand fades again, the recent recovery could prove harder to sustain.

Wednesday’s US CPI adds another layer of risk. A softer inflation reading could weigh on the dollar and support risk assets, potentially helping Bitcoin extend its rebound. A hotter report could push yields higher and test buyers’ conviction.

For Bitcoin, the next move is therefore about more than price.

The key question is whether fresh capital follows BTC higher.
