Bitcoin Is Consolidating. What Will Break the Range?

Bitcoin's rally has lost some momentum.

After jumping roughly 15% in four days and briefly reaching $87,000, BTC has settled into a narrower range as traders reassess whether the latest move has enough fuel to continue.

The pause is not necessarily a bearish signal. After such a sharp rebound, the market needs to see whether new demand can replace the buying pressure from short covering that helped accelerate the rally.

Three Signals to Watch

ETF flows are the first.

Strong inflows into U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs would suggest that institutional demand is still supporting prices. If inflows weaken, Bitcoin could find it harder to push through recent highs.

The dollar and Treasury yields are another key factor.

A stronger dollar or another sharp rise in Treasury yields could put pressure on risk assets, while softer yields and a weaker dollar would generally create a more supportive backdrop for BTC.

Then comes $87,000.

Bitcoin has already tested this area after its sharp rebound. A sustained break above the recent high would show that buyers are willing to chase prices higher rather than simply defend existing positions. Failure to clear it, meanwhile, could keep BTC range-bound for longer.

For BTCUSD, the next move may depend less on the size of the latest rally and more on whether fresh money is still coming into the market.
