The U.S. Dollar Index slipped 0.1% on Thursday after a volatile session in which gains driven by renewed U.S.-Iran tensions faded following the release of the Federal Reserve's June meeting minutes (Source: Investing.com).
The minutes showed policymakers remained divided over the outlook for interest rates, with differing views on whether additional policy tightening would be needed.
In China, consumer inflation remained subdued in June, with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising 1.0% year over year, slightly below market expectations. Meanwhile, the Producer Price Index (PPI) accelerated to 4.1%, reflecting higher energy and commodity costs.
Analysts said rising producer prices could increase cost pressures for businesses, although the timing and extent of any impact on consumer inflation remain uncertain.
Elsewhere, investors continued to monitor movements in Asian currencies, including the Japanese yen and Chinese yuan, as markets assessed global monetary policy and geopolitical developments.
