Gold Holds Near $4,430 as Traders Await US Inflation Data

Gold (XAU/USD) is holding around $4,430 after rebounding from recent lows. The metal came under pressure following stronger-than-expected US jobs data, which pushed expectations for a Federal Reserve rate hike higher. Markets are now turning their attention to this week’s US inflation data.

The technical picture remains mixed. Gold is attempting to stabilize after a sharp correction, with momentum showing no clear directional bias. The recent recovery has also brought price back toward an important resistance zone.

On the upside, $4,422–$4,465 is the key area to watch. A sustained break above $4,465 could improve the short-term outlook and open the way toward higher levels.

On the downside, $4,365 is emerging as an important near-term support. A break below this level could expose $4,305 and then the stronger support zone around $4,260.

For traders, the next major catalyst is US inflation. A softer CPI could ease rate-hike expectations and support gold, while a stronger reading could lift the dollar and Treasury yields, keeping pressure on the metal. With gold currently caught between key support and resistance, the next breakout could depend heavily on the inflation data.
