USD/CHF Trades Near 0.8100 as Broader US Dollar Strength Continues

USD/CHF held modest intraday gains through the European morning on Tuesday, recovering part of the previous session's decline, with market participants watching whether the pair can establish itself above the 0.8100 level.

US Dollar Finds Support from Geopolitical and Policy Expectations

Renewed tensions involving the United States and Iran over the weekend contributed to renewed inflation concerns, while expectations surrounding future Federal Reserve policy continued to support the US Dollar. Together, these factors helped the Dollar recover from a three-day pullback after reaching its highest level since May 2025.

Technical Indicators Remain Constructive

The recovery from January's year-to-date low has continued within a well-defined ascending channel, indicating that the broader technical structure remains positive. A move above the 200-day Exponential Moving Average (EMA), followed by a break above the psychological 0.8000 level, was viewed by technical analysts as a notable shift in market structure.

Momentum indicators also continue to reflect positive conditions. The 14-day Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 65.26, approaching overbought territory, while the MACD histogram remains in positive territory, consistent with the pair remaining within the upper portion of its ascending channel.

Key Technical Levels

Resistance: The upper boundary of the ascending channel near 0.8154 represents the next notable resistance level. A sustained move above this area could shift attention toward higher levels within the existing technical structure.

Support: Initial support is located around 0.8097, followed by the 200-day EMA near 0.7975. If the pair moves lower, the lower boundary of the ascending channel around 0.7841 may provide additional technical support.

Even so, periods of consolidation remain possible if momentum begins to moderate.

Broader US Dollar Performance

Tuesday's market data showed the US Dollar posting its strongest gains against the Euro (+0.28%), while also advancing against the Swiss Franc (+0.25%), Japanese Yen (+0.24%), and British Pound (+0.23%). More modest gains were recorded against the Canadian Dollar (+0.14%) and Australian Dollar (+0.13%), while the Dollar was little changed against the New Zealand Dollar.

Market Focus

With USD/CHF trading near an important technical area, market participants may continue to monitor price action around the 0.8100 level during the European and US trading sessions. Sustained trading above this area could reinforce the current technical structure, while a move back toward the 200-day EMA may indicate that upward momentum is moderating.
