Breaking: Oil Faces Fresh Pressure as US-Iran Talks Move Closer

Oil is facing fresh selling pressure after a major diplomatic signal emerged from Tehran. Iran has reportedly been told by Qatar and Pakistan that the US is serious about negotiations and reaching a deal — opening a new potential path toward de-escalation.

The timing matters. Brent is already down around the $104 area, while WTI is hovering near $100, after three straight sessions of losses. The market has been steadily pulling back its geopolitical premium as Saudi Arabia finds alternative ways to keep crude moving.

Now, the possibility of US-Iran talks adds another layer of pressure. If negotiations gain traction, traders could start pricing out the risk of a prolonged disruption around the Strait of Hormuz — potentially putting another leg lower on crude.

But this is where the story gets interesting. Iran has conditions, and there is no deal yet. Any breakdown in negotiations, fresh attacks on energy infrastructure, or renewed disruption around Hormuz could send the risk premium straight back into the market.

For oil, this is no longer just about the next supply disruption. It’s about whether the market is finally getting a way out of the supply shock.
