Gold Breaks Below $4,350 — What’s Next?

Gold Breaks Below $4,350 — What’s Next?

Gold and silver are losing ground as traders reassess the rate outlook.

Spot gold has fallen below $4,350/oz, down around 0.65% on the day, while spot silver has slipped to $66/oz, losing roughly 0.4%.

The pullback comes as higher yields and expectations for a tighter US monetary policy path continue to weigh on precious metals. Gold, which pays no interest, typically faces greater pressure when Treasury yields rise and markets price in higher rates.

Key Levels to Watch

For gold, the $4,300–$4,350 area is becoming an important zone to watch. A sustained break lower could increase downside pressure, while a recovery above $4,350 could signal that buyers are stepping back in.

Silver is also approaching a key level around $66. Failure to regain this area could leave the metal vulnerable to further selling, while a rebound above it could ease some of the immediate downside pressure.

What Could Move the Market Next?

The next major moves may come from the same factors that have been driving precious metals recently: US rates, Treasury yields, the dollar and inflation expectations.

For CFD traders, this means the current pullback is not simply about gold or silver. A shift in rate expectations could quickly spill over into XAUUSD, XAGUSD, USD pairs and US indices.
