Italy's Treasury has appointed a group of banks to manage a new U.S. dollar-denominated bond sale via syndication, split across three tranches maturing in 2031, 2036, and 2056, according to a Treasury statement.
BofA, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, and Morgan Stanley have been mandated to handle the transaction. The issuance timing will depend on prevailing market conditions, with the sale expected to launch in the near term.
The move adds to euro-area sovereigns' recent activity in dollar debt markets, a channel issuers often use to diversify their investor base and funding currency mix.
What's next: Market participants may look for pricing guidance and final terms once the syndication process begins, as well as updates on broader euro-area sovereign issuance plans during the quarter.
